REETEC at WindEnergy Hamburg 2018

From 25th to 28th September 2018 REETEC exhibits at the WindEnergy trade fair in Hamburg. Of course we will present our entire service portfolio, but this year with a special focus on:

  • Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Onshore and Offshore
  • Rotor Blade Services
  • Aviation Aid Systems

Visit us in hall B6 at booth 375, where we will present ourselves with a new corporate identity as REETEC EDF Renewables as part of the EDF EN Group. REETEC launches new aviation obstruction markers for onshore and offshore wind turbines according to latest certification standards

  • Universally deployable aviation obstruction marker system from REETEC in-house production.
  • Preparation for all approved “night identification on-demand systems” (BNK).
  • Lighter, more compact and lower-maintenance than previous generation.

After completion of the development work, prototypes of the new luminaire series were initially built in the company's own production facility in April 2017; after successful certification of the optical characteristics, REETEC is now starting its series production. Consistent simplification of components and design resulted in a significant cost reduction. At the same time, the robustness and longevity of the luminaires were key development objectives.

The most important improvements at a glance:

  • The number of LED levels was minimized - this design optimisation allowed for a much more compact model shape.
  • Newly designed, robust Plug'n'Play GPS solution with integrated twilight switch.
  • Highly flexible system that can be easily adapted to local requirements via network / web interface.
  • Individually configurable, therefore suitable for retrofit.

“The above are all decisive advantages of the new aviation obstruction markers compared to the previous generation. Our goal was to maintain the tried and tested robustness while at the same time implementing technical innovations and a cost-efficient production,” explains Carsten Bredemeier, Head of Development at REETEC.

Comprehensive environmental testing under real life conditions

The prototypes underwent a comprehensive test program: examinations in climatic and pressure chambers, salt water spray tests as well as acceleration and shock tests that go beyond typical environmental conditions and manufacturer requirements. The optical properties have been tested by an accredited laboratory and were successfully certified by the relevant authorities according to current AVV and ICAO guidelines, which is a prerequisite for marketing approval.

"Within only one year we have developed, extensively tested and successfully certified a completely new product. Our new aviation obstruction markers pay tribute to the rapid development in the field of LED technology and raise our product portfolio to a new technical level. The market interest is extraordinarily high, as the system is also very well suited for retrofit measures due to its modularity," says Claus Sejersen, Sales Director at REETEC. The results which REETEC repeatedly achieves on the basis of its broad experience and comprehensive know how are an integral part of the success story of the Bremen-based wind energy company from day one: REETEC has been producing aviation obstruction markers for onshore and offshore wind turbines since 1998.

REETEC presents itself with new branding as REETEC EDF Renewables to onshore and offshore wind energy market

  • Following the recent rebranding of EDF Energies Nouvelles’ international subsidiaries in around 20 countries to be EDF Renewables, REETEC’s branding is being adapted according to the new corporate identity.

Bremen/Germany, May 7, 2018 – To support its expansion in the international renewable energy market, EDF Energies Nouvelles has bolstered its corporate identity through EDF Renewables, the brand for its international subsidiaries. In line with the EDF Group’s goal of doubling its renewable energy capacity in France and worldwide by 2030, EDF Energies Nouvelles continues to expand in its core markets – France, Europe and the United States – and into markets with a high development potential, such as Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.

When it comes to wind energy, Germany is a key European market for the EDF Group. Together with REETEC – which is part of the EDF Energies Nouvelles Group - the Group plans to drive forward the turnaround towards renewable energy concepts. To honor the long-standing heritage of REETEC and its position as an established market player, the new brand is now REETEC EDF Renewables. OWS Off-Shore Wind Solutions – acquired by REETEC in 2017 – will adopt the new brand in 2019.

REETEC repositions itself with unique onshore and offshore service portfolio at the wind energy market

  • The Emden Offshore Service Centre (EOSC) offers customers access to a service hub for wind turbine generators of the North Sea plus a highly qualified full maintenance concept.
  • With EDF Energies Nouvelles Group, REETEC benefits from a strong, globally oriented stakeholder with ambitions to drive expansion of wind energy concepts on an international level.


Bremen/Germany February 1st, 2018      As an independent full service provider with over 20 years of industry experience, REETEC sees itself as a partner of manufacturers and operators of wind farms on equal footing. Its comprehensive know how is based on practical learning curves – not least due to experience with developing prototypes – which is passed on directly to customers via qualified employees. The former can order services on a stand-alone basis or packaged as a turn-key project.

The OWS integration means a significant expansion of the current range of services from electrical engineering, grid connection, electrical and mechanical assembly of wind turbine generators, operation and maintenance (O&M) services, major component replacement, rotor blade and tower services to aviation obstruction markers.

Compelling combination of competence, technology and infrastructure

Currently, an unparalleled pan-European service hub for major component replacement is being built together with offshore wind farm specialist OWS: the “Emden Offshore Service Centre“ (EOSC), which offers cost efficient full service concepts as well as modular solutions. Medium-term planning will see availability of technology and engineering with a capacity to service 500 wind turbine generators:

  • Own service dock and service hall in which rotor blades with a length of 50-60 meters and entire nacelles can be refurbished.
  • Modern 24/7 control centre, including remote supervision and connection to the predictive maintenance centre of EDF Energies Nouvelles (e-DC).
  • Location on the border of the Netherlands offers a wide deployable radius comprising the entire North Sea.
  • Access to a jack-up service vessel with a 500 tons crane.

SSC Wind and REETEC are working together in the offshore wind farm Nordsee One

REETEC supports SSC Wind for the installation of 54 Senvion offshore wind turbines

Bremen & Wildeshausen/Germany, August 31, 2017 – SSC Wind and REETEC are installing together on behalf of Senvion 54 turbines with a unit capacity of 6.2 MW for the 332 MW offshore wind farm Nordsee One. Both experienced services companies were already on board during the preparatory phase in Bremerhaven. The installation was organized via the base port in Eemshaven. The first Senvion 6.2M126 was installed in Nordsee One early March. Up to now 52 of the 54 Senvion turbines are installed.

Both wind energy service provider SSC Wind from Lower-Saxony and REETEC located in Bremen are working with several teams on the completion of the offshore wind farm. Nordsee One is located 40 kilometres far from the North Sea island Juist.

54 Senvion 6.2M126 were gradually transported from Bremerhaven via Eemshaven to the final destination Nordsee One with water depths between 26 and 29 metres. Value creation of this project during installation phase and in operation is concentrated in the North of Germany. Both wind energy service provider represent together over 35 years of wind industry experience.
